An end-to-end match saw Winnington narrowly lose to Triton 4-5 on Friday 22nd June.
The goals were spread over the two halves with Winnington being down 2-3 at halftime.
Mark Leigh opened the scoring for Winnington bringing the scores level at 1-1.
Triton went back in front but James Egerton scored levelling the scores again until Triton went back out in front just before the end of the first half.
The second half just as the first ended with both teams attacking. Triton scored two quick goals to make it 5-2, but Winnington did not give up and pressed forward.
Mark Haffenden went close, but it was Greg Wilkes that scored Winnington’s first goal in the second half. Winnington continued to press and Liam Mckee brought Winnington back into it, which made the last 5 minutes frenetic with Winnington pushing for the equaliser.
Triton defended magnificently to maintain their one-goal advantage.
