Mens 2s league winners:

The mens' twos have won the were crowned champions of the North West Men's Division 6 South (central), with three matches to go!

The team have won every match so far,

played 17,

won 17,

Scored 77 goals

Conceded 16 goals.

The two main reasons why the team have done well is due to the consistency of availability and the team spirit of the lads. Everyone working together and for each other on and off the pitch. Some spectators have said we have "99 chemistry", which I believe is a Fifa term for a squad that knows exactly how each player plays. Most weeks I've had at least 11 players who played the week before and as the seasons went on, everyone's been waiting for Saturday to come around. So this meant we knew our strengths and how to improve weaknesses as a unit.

Our aims have grown from getting promoted, to winning the league and now, we want to win every game - be invincible. There have been close games and they haven't always been with top of the table clashes and there have been big wins. All of which have given the squad confidence to carry on.

Not only have we outscored the rest of the league but we've also conceded less than one goal a game which shows our strength from 'keeper to strikers.

Ladies 1s
Lost 2-1 away to Eirias

Park went into halftime 1-0 down after conceding from a short corner, could have been more but keeper Helen Hogben kept Parks ladies in touch.

Shandy Molony-Pugh scored a brilliant 2 touch counterattack. A few minutes before full-time Eirias scored again from another short corner. Final score 2-1

Helen Hogben made loads of saves and kept Park in the game.

Mens 1s

Home to Southport

Park hosted but on a bad day at the office the team did not perform and lost 7-1, captain Joe Corless scored Park’s consolation goal.
They were a dominant, very good side and moved the ball around fast. Park struggled in the middle 40 mins, but early on pressed well and created chances, same in the final 15 minutes. Park had a goal disallowed and Oli Wilkes hit the post. Very frustrating afternoon
Player of the match: Dave Thompson

Ladies 2s Home to Alderley Edge

The ladies' second string were at home to in form Alderley and could not stop Alderley from adding another win to their record. The ladies' 2s went down 9-0.
Park started off strong but a couple of penalty strokes and short corners saw AE race into a 4-0 lead at halftime. Park started to create but unfortunately, nothing came of this! Final score 9-0, POM goes to Nat Martin for an amazing performance in defence.

Mens 2s

Were at home to Warrington

Park went into the match knowing a win would take the league title. Park started very nervily, the team had not played for three weeks and were rusty all over the place. Park made plenty of attacks but couldn't get the final effort on goal. The deadlock was broken by Sean Morley (assisted by Rob Bowden) just before halftime. Mark Leigh pulled strings up top and controlled aerials with ease which gave Winnington an outlet. Their striker had a one on one chance, rounded the keeper but a defender managed to get a block in. Motm went to Pete Haffendon for a solid midfield work.

Mens 3s away to Wilmslow

Park dominated possession creating chance after chance but through the opposition keeper playing a superb game and some wayward finishing, it was Wilmslow who took the lead against the run of play. Park continued to press and succumbed to another router attack to be 2 down after 25 minutes, Ben Fisher grabbed a goal back for Park just before halftime.

The second half started the same with park creating but putting away their chances and again Wilmslow counter-attacked and added a third. Top goal score Lima Mckee grabbed Parks second. Winnington continued to attack but their keeper put his body on the line and kept all their chances out.

Defender Thomas Johnson and Midfielder Russ Snowden took the MOTM award.

Both Junior teams were in action with the ‘Whites’ winning 3 nil away to Alderley and the ‘Blues’ winning 7-3 away to Lymm.
